Founders Weekend
Established in 1822 Muir College celebrates its 190
th Annual Reunion and Founders weekend from Friday, 9
th March to Sunday, 11
th March 2012. Old boys, parents and friends from around the country and abroad will be travelling to Uitenhage to participate in the festivities that the weekend has to offer.
Highlights of the weekend will be the Reunion and Founder’s Day Assembly to be held in the College Hall on Friday, 9th March at 10:30am. Mr Justin Bosman, class of 1962, will be the guest speaker during this event. The Old Boys rugby match will take place at the school at 17:00pm. The Annual General Meeting of the Old Muirite Union takes place at 18h00 in “The School Library” followed by an informal gathering where wives and girlfriends are welcome to join at the Muirite venue.
On Saturday the 10th March, the popular and entertaining Old Boy Cricket matches, in particularly an Old Muirite Invitation team against the College 1st XI, will be played during the course of day. At 19:00 the Old Muirite Dinner will be held in the College Hall with former Muirite Dr Steve Harris, motivational speaker and mental strength coach for the Springbok Rugby teams, as the Guest Speaker. Dinner tickets are R200 per person and students R130 per person. Dress: Suit or Blazer.
The weekend will conclude with an informal Golf Day on the 11th March which commences at 07h30 am. In addition to the traditional weekend program, Old Boys of the NC Dugmore House will be holding a reunion at The Pitch and Putter in Port Elizabeth on Thursday 8th March 2012. We look forward to sharing this weekend with everyone who has travelled from near and far to join in on the celebrations.
